papagal

100% Local. Zero Telemetry.
Built for Complete Privacy.

Papagal is engineered from the ground up to respect data privacy. We believe that your databases, financial spreadsheets, and proprietary datasets should never leave your computer.

02security

100% On-Device Processing

All database queries, Parquet columnar decompression, Excel workbook parsing, and Metal GPU shaders run entirely locally on your Mac’s CPU and GPU. No files or cell values are ever uploaded to cloud servers or remote databases.

Zero Telemetry & Tracking

Papagal contains no Google Analytics, no tracking SDKs, no user fingerprinting, and no background crash uploaders. The only outbound network requests the app will ever make are Polar license verification and checking for software updates.

Encrypted, Mac-Bound License Storage

Your license key and activation record are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before Papagal saves them in its local preferences. The encryption key is derived from your Mac’s hardware identifier, so a copied record can’t be read on another Mac.

Apple Privacy Manifest Included

Papagal includes Apple’s official PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy manifest declaring no tracking, no tracking domains and no collected data. The two system APIs Apple asks apps to justify, Papagal’s own preferences and the file dates it shows you, are declared with Apple’s approved reasons.

How to Independently Verify Papagal

You don’t have to take our word for it. You can inspect and verify Papagal’s network activity and code integrity yourself using standard macOS tools:

1.Verify Zero Outbound Network Connections

Run this in macOS Terminal while opening datasets in Papagal:

lsof -p $(pgrep Papagal) -i

You will see zero active database sockets or cloud transmissions.

2.Monitor with Firewall & Network Tools

Tools like Little Snitch, LuLu (by Objective-See), or Wireshark will confirm that Papagal operates completely silently and locally on your machine.

3.Multi-Engine Antivirus Scans

Every release of Papagal.dmg is verifiable with VirusTotal across 70+ security vendors (Microsoft Defender, Bitdefender, Kaspersky, Sophos, Avast, CrowdStrike) with 0 / 70 clean detections.
